HRI Series: Olivia Hemingway returned to her home town of Huddersfield about two years ago. In 2017 she approached notable people with a strong connection to the area, to ask them for their thoughts and stories about the local hospital, the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. She interviewed and took portraits of 12 people including Simon Armitage, Paul Huxtable, Lena Headey, Sir Patrick Stewart and Jodie Whittaker. This series was part of a wider project in collaboration with The Sharp Agency and was exhibited at The Corner last year. Each portrait was taken in specially chosen locations around the Huddersfield area. One of the recurring themes when asking people what home means to them is ‘feeling safe’.
